Helambhu Trekking in Nepal

A beautiful trek in the periphery of hills surrounding Kathmandu, Helambu Trek is a short yet action-packed trekking experience that takes you on an epic ride of Helambu and parts of the Langtang region. Helambu trek in Nepal is also known for its heritage trekking experience as it takes you to the villages of some of the indigenous Himalayan tribes including Hyolmo and Tamang communities. Explore their lifestyle and a unique culture heavily influenced by Tibetan beliefs. This trek helps unravel the hidden wilderness of the pristine Helambu region.

Setting off the trip with a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley, we get a chance to visit the famous shrines of Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath along with the famous palace square in Kathmandu. After an extensive heritage exploration of the capital city of Nepal, the trip takes on the road to Sundarijal which is a jump point of Helambu Trek. We then head up the Shivapuri Wildlife reserve with a glimpse of what is to follow as thick forests engulf us and tribal folks appear along the route. It continues as we pass by Chisapani and Kutumsang.

Entering the famed Langtang National Park at Thadepati, the Himalayas show up as we arrive at Tarkeghyang and then at Sermathang. The Langtang Lirung (7227m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and Shishapangma (8013m) are all visible en route. We wrap up the trip descending to Melamchi Pul Bazaar and catching a ride back to Kathmandu. The Helambu Trek is an exploration of lesser-known and underappreciated destinations in Nepal. Albeit short, the Helambu trek is sure to be an enchanting affair with the Langtang region. Like most adventure treks in Nepal, the best season to take on this trek is during spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November).

Having designed and executed some of the best trekking experiences in Nepal, we bring to you yet another in the form of Helambu Trek.
