The Jiri to EBC Trek offers you the same adventure as experienced by the early trekkers in the 1950's by expeditions heading towards Everest.Although, with the development of the classic Everest Base Camp trail, the crowd has gone down significantly the mesmerizing beauty remains the same. Boasting a lengthy stay in the Himalayas the trail also provides greater exposure to the unique way of life of the local Sherpa people. The thrill and pride that comes along with stepping on the foot of the world’s tallest mountain, Mt. Everest (8848m), tells another story altogether.
The trail of Jiri to EBC trek begins from the stunning Kathmandu valley as we tour around the culturally opulent world heritage sites of Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Next, we drive to the picturesque hamlet of Jiri adorned with glorious Himalayan views. The Jiri to EBC trek begins as we make our way heading towards Bhandar from Jiri. From Bhandar, we trek through lush green forests making our way towards the hamlets of Sethe. Enjoying the local culture and unique way of life of the Sherpas alongside the majestic Himalayan views the Himalayan trail takes Khari Khola crossing Nunthala enroute. Past the hamlet of Paiya, the trail overlaps with the classic Everest Circuit as we reach Phakding and then onto Namche Bazaar where we take the first of our acclimatization days. Heading past the hamlet of Tengboche we continue our journey towards Dingboche where after taking a day off for acclimatization we head towards Lobuche. The next day we trek to Everest Base Camp and then onto Gorakshep in preparation of our morning hike to Kalapatthar. Enjoying the heavenly sunrise views of Kalapatthar, we descend back to Pheriche via Gorakshep eventually making our way down to Lukla via Namche Bazaar which ends our journey.

An Ace Vision Treks staff will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Shortly, following with a drive through the bustling city, you will reach your hotel. In the evening, you will participate in a welcome dinner hosted by us. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day second and our journey begins from the world heritage sites spread around the valley beginning from the glorious temple of Swayambhunath. After an exploration around the Buddhist stupa, we head to the Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to the living goddess- Kumari. Later, we visit the Hindu pilgrimage site of Pashupatinath and, finally, the tour culminates at the Boudhanath stupa. In the meantime, we also make preparations for the trek. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
After an early morning breakfast, the journey begins as we head out of the tranquil hills towards the twisty roadways of Kodari Highway before crossing the stunning Sun Koshi River heading towards Mude. The journey is a pleasant one filled with hilly landscapes and panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas including Ganesh Himal (7,422m), Langtang Lirung (7,227m), and Dorje Lakpa (6,966m). We reach Jiri for our first stop on the journey. Overnight stay at Jiri.
Heading out of Jiri, the trail takes us on a pleasant run heading up and over the stream before ascending steeply towards Sangba Danda. Through the vibrant hamlets, we continue our journey through a pleasant trail reaching the hamlet of Mahabir beyond which the trail ascends reaching towards Deurali. Enjoying the display of Tibetan culture through the Mani walls, the trail gives an enchanting view of the Likhu Khola as we head towards Bhandar. Overnight stay at Bhandar.
Heading out of the lovely Sherpa hamlet of Bhandar we take on the terraced farmlands at the lower end of the village gradually making our way down to the lush green forest filled with pine, fir and rhododendron trees. Out of the forest, we reach a canyon beyond which the trail heads towards Barandas where you can buy walking sticks to help you on the steep ascent towards the hamlet of Kenja. The trail continues it’s ascend towards Lamjura Pass beyond which we reach Chimbu from where the trail forks right towards Sethe.
After a lovely breakfast, we begin our way towards Junbesi heading out of the pleasant hamlet of Sethe. From Sethe, we take the ascending route towards the summit of Lamjura Pass (3530m). Continuing on we are welcomed by the lush green forests filled with pine, fir, rhododendron, hemlock and magnolia trees. Enjoying the stunning view of the Himalayas alongside the pleasant Hilly landscapes the trail takes us all the way to Junbesi. Overnight stay at Junbesi.
The trek begins as we make our way heading out of Junbesi crossing the Junbesi Khola over the wooden bridge and onwards to the trail heading left. Entering the lush green forests once again, the trail takes us on a steep journey reaching towards Phurteng where are blessed with the majestic views of the Mt. Everest (8,848m), Thamserku (6608m), and Mera Peak (6,461m).We continue our journey heading north towards Taksindu La (3870m) crossing the hamlet of Ringmo enroute. The final stretch takes us through the lush green forests before clearing at Nunthala. Overnight stay at Nunthala.
One of the shorter days of the trek today we make our way towards the hamlet of Khari Khola. Heading out of Nunthala in the company of the majestic Himalayas the trail descends all the way down to meet Dudh Koshi. Up and over the suspension bridge, we reach the hamlet of Jubhing from where we trek to Khari Khola. Overnight stay at Khari Khola.
From the hamlet of Khari Khola, we begin our descend reaching the actual river of Khari crossing water drive mills towards Bupsa. Beyond the suspension bridge, the trail ascends reaching Bupsa from where we make our way to Paiya with mesmerizing views of the Himalayas including the majestic views of Mt. Khumbila (6367m) and Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188m). Overnight stay at Paiya.
Heading out of Paiya, the trail takes us through the suspension bridge up and over towards the hamlet of Surke. Continuing on for about 15 minutes, we arrive at a junction where the pathway on the right leads to Lukla and another head north towards Chauri Kharka after a steep pathway leading up to it. Taking the flat trails stretching through the middle of the village we reach Ghat followed by a trek to Phakding. Overnight stay at Phakding.
Today we make our way out of Phakding and towards the gateway of Everest at Namche Bazaar Guided by the mesmerizing views of Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856m) and Thamserku (6608m). Crossing the suspension bridge up and over the Dudh Koshi River, the trail takes us towards the vibrant Sherpa hamlets of Bengkar and Jorsalle. A pleasant trail through the Sagarmatha National Park takes us all the way to Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Today, we take the first of our allocated days for acclimatization at Namche Bazaar. Waking up with the stunning views of Himalayas, we make our way towards the center of the town. For acclimatization purposes, it is best to make our way towards the hamlets of Khunde and Khumjung which is blessed with stunning Himalayan views and a pleasant trail leading to both destinations. Moreover, the hamlet of Khumjung also hosts Yeti Skull Monastery which is said to house the skull of a real-life yeti. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
The classic Everest trail begins as we make our way out of Namche Bazaar heading towards the Tengboche. Making our way out of Namche, the trail continues through the lush green forests as the declining hills give away stunning views of the rising Himalayas. With the snowy summits of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Nuptse (7,861m), Lhotse (8,414m) and Ama Dablam (6,856m), the trail takes us up and over the Dudh Koshi River making our way towards Tengboche. Overnight stay at Tengboche.
Heading out of Tengboche, we make our way towards Deboche a small village adorned with the lovely Mani walls and Chortens. The trail takes us up and over the Imja Khola and heads towards Pangboche which is well known for its breathtaking view of Ama Dablam (6,812m). Following the Imja River upstream, we head deeper into the valley reaching the Lobuche River which signals the last stretch of the dayto Dingboche. Overnight stay at Dingboche.
The final of our acclimatization days is spent in Dingboche as we prepare our final push towards the home of the world's tallest Himalayas. A day hike ascending towards the valley of Imja Tse reaching Chhukung is a lovely alternative to staying back at the hamlet. The trail is blessed with stunning Himalayan views and is a pleasant one ascending gradually making it perfect for acclimatization. Overnight stay at Dingboche.
With the mesmerizing views of Taboche (6,367m) Peak and Cholatse (6,335m) guiding the trail, we continue our journey heading past Yak pastures and then onto Thukla heading up and over the suspension bridge. Crossing the steep terrain of Khumbu glacier for about an hour, the trail steers left reaching the rocky trail covered by mementos in honor of countless Sherpas who lost their lives to the Himalayas. Continuing on, we reach Lobuche. Overnight stay at Lobuche.
One of the longer days of the trip and it is the most fulfilling one. Guided by the majestic views of the Himalayas, we continue our way ascending through the rocky Himalayan trail reaching the base camp of the world's tallest mountain, the Mount Everest (8848m). With the stupendous Everest Himalayan Range stretching in front of us, we take a break in their company. Khumbu Icefall and Glacier also offer brilliant scenery at the base camp. We then head back to Gorakshep. Overnight stay at Gorakshep.
The day begins early as we make our early morning journey heading towards Kalapatthar to enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayas. The snowy summits of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Nuptse (7,861m), Changtse (7,543m), Lhotse (8,414m), Ama Dablam (6,856m) and Lingtren (6,749m) glistening golden with the rays of the early morning sun is an enchanting sight sure to set our heart racing. Descending back to the hamlet of Gorakshep after a lovely breakfast, we make our way once again to Pheriche. Overnight stay at Pheriche.
As we near the end of our journey, we make our way back to the town of Namche Bazaar heading out through the hamlet of Pheriche. Once again, we enter the lush green forests descending through the pleasant landscapes adorned with pine, fir, and rhododendron trees. The trail is a lovely one setting a comfortable pace as we make our way down enjoying the stunning forested landscapes. Continuing through the Sagarmatha National Park, we descend all the way back to Namche. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
The final day of our trek, we make our way heading out of Namche and all the way down towards Lukla. For one final time, we head through the Sagarmatha National Park with the disappearing peaks of the Himalayas to our back. The trail is often crowded with trekkers and local people alike heading in and out of the Everest region. As such, the trail is well maintained and is pleasant as we exit the Sagarmatha National Park reaching the picturesque town of Lukla. Overnight stay at Lukla.
The day begins early as we make our way out of Lukla heading towards Kathmandu through one of the most thrilling airstrips you will ever take off from. The journey back is a lovely 45-minute flight with stunning views of the Himalayas on the horizon. Back in Kathmandu, we head directly head back to the hotel where after freshening up and lunch you are free to head down to the city hunting for souvenirs back home. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 22 is separated for any contingencies we might encounter up in the Himalayas as bad weather in these regionsoften tends to disrupt the flow of the trek. Similar conditions exist in Lukla as flights sometimes are postponed due to bad weather. Reserve day will help us tackle any problems we might encounter while also making sure the trek goes smoothly.
With the completion of one of the most authentic treks in Nepal, we bid you farewell on this day. Company staff will take you to the airport for your flight to your destination.
