15-Days Annapurna Khopra Danda Trekking Package in Nepal

Located south of Annapurna, Khopra Danda Trek is one of the most exciting trails to traverse the splendid lands under the shadows of the Annapurna Base camp. The key attractions during this trek are Mohare Hill (3224m) and Khayer Lake(4600m) which are remarkable creations of nature herself. Along with a stunning view of Machhapuchhre (6997m), Nilgiri (7061m), Hiunchuli (6434m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), and many more, the trail gives the pleasure of experiencing the wildlife, and rich culture of the Gurung people along the trekking trails.

The journey of the Khopra Dada trek commences with an enriching tour around the world heritage sites in the Kathmandu Day Tour.  After the sightseeing and trek preparation in Kathmandu, our trek starts in the beautiful city of Pokhara. A scenic drive of about six hours will take you from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The scenery of the rural farms and winding roads make for a smooth short drive from Pokhara to Galeshwar. From here, you’ll trek towards Banskharka with the company of the peeking Himalayas into the far horizon. The trail passes through Nangi and proceeds towards Swanta via Mohare Hill. Upon reaching Santa, you’ll walk past long terraces, sloppy landscapes, and a green forest of pine, rhododendron, and oak.

Along with a breathtaking view of Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7061m), and Annapurna (8091m), you’ll now ascend towards Khopra Danda via Chistibang. The serene blue water in the midst of the green hills with the Himalayas in the background is surreal to witness. A huge number of Hindus and  Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour devotees come to worship and take a holy bath in Khayer Lake. After exploring the lake, you’ll head to the Gurung village of Ghandruk via Dobato. After spending the better part of the day amid the mesmerizing Gurung culture at Ghandruk.  You head to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. March to May and September to December are the best time for this trekking.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Ace Vision Treks & Tours staff members will greet you and transfer you to your respective hotel. In the evening, you’ll also enjoy a cultural welcome dinner hosted by Ace Vision Treks. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

    Preparation Today is your free day or you want city sightseeing so, here are tips for you. On this day, you participate in a sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu Valley. A local guide will take you to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. You will be enlightened about the rich history of the city during the golden period and its impact on the modern era. After the tour, you will make the necessary preparations for the trek. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

      Today, you leave the capital in the early morning. A scenic drive of six to seven hours via Prithvi Highway will take you to Pokhara. Driving along the western hills and crossing the small towns of Mugling and Dumre, the Annapurna (8091m) and Machhapuchhre (6997m) greet you before entering the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara. If you have enough time, you can roam around Phewa Lake. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.

        From Pokhara, you drive for around three hours to reach Galeshwar which is situated on the bank of the Kali Gandaki River. Once at Galeshwar, you can also visit the nearby GaleshwarTemple. From here, our real trekking journey starts. You’ll ascend towards Banskharka through Annapurna trails. You cross a few suspension bridges and walk through the forested trail to reach Galeshwar. Overnight stay at Galeshwar.

          Early in the morning, you start the trek towards the village of Nangi. Along with a sublime view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, you move towards the deep forest of rhododendron and pine which leads the way towards the settlement of DandaKateri. Along with the green hills and soothing sounds of birds, a six to seven hours walk takes you to Nangi. Nangi is a beautiful small village where you can find the majority of Magar settlements. Overnight stay at Nangi.

            After breakfast, you'll start your trek towards Mohare Hill. Along with the awesome view of the surroundings, you will ascend towards Him Pal Pass at 3098m from where you get panoramic views of various snow-capped mountains in the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. Crossing several bridges and beautiful waterfalls, you finally reach Mohare Hill. Mohare Hill is famous for its spectacular view of sunrise and sunset over the majestic Himalayas. Overnight stay at Mohare Hill.

              Today you’ll be trekking towards the settlement of Swanta. Upon reaching Phulbari, you can take a brief stop. From here, you’ll walk along with the forest of pine and oak and ascend towards the village of Phalate via NakakoBisaune (2670m). From this pass, the trail descends gradually to lead you to Swanta. Overnight stay at Swanta.

                From Swanta, you’ll start your trek towards Chistibang along with DhastaKhareKhola flowing on the edge. The trail will take you through sloppy landscapes, terraced fields, and stony paths with a glorious view of Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m). On the way to Chistibang, you’ll cross a few suspension bridges and beautiful waterfalls. Overnight stay at Chistibang.

                  From Chistibang, we continue our trail to the south of the Annapurna range. The trekking trail on this day runs deep into the Annapurna Conservation Area evidenced by the affluence of bio-diversity along the routes. Along with wild vegetation, alpine meadows, and a stunning view of mountain peaks including Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7061m), and Annapurna (8091m), you finally reach your destination.                     Khayer Lake is the main attraction of the Khopra Danda Trek and justifies being so with the natural treatment it offers to the trekkers. Today, you explore Khayer Lake. A fair bit of ascent will take you to the lake. Regarded as the sacred lake by Hindus, it is often believed that bathing in the lake will help you rebirth a holy person. The lake amid the Himalayas is a wonderful retreat and offers enchanting views of the Himalayas. Later, you return to Khopra Danda. Overnight stay at Khopra Danda

                      Early in the morning, you’ll start your trek towards Dobato. As we descend down the green hills, an increasingly impressive view of rhododendron and oak rewards us. Once at BayeliKharka, you will get a glorious view of Mount Dhaulagiri(8167m). Crossing the settlement of Meshar and Isharu, you’ll finally reach Dobato at 3420m. Overnight stay at Dobato.

                        From Dobato, you’ll move towards Tadapani. The trail ahead takes you through the forest of pine and sloppy landscapes. Once at Tadapani, you’ll get stunning views of Annapurna(8091m), Hiunchuli(6441m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m). After about three hours of walking, you reach Ghandruk, the second largest Gurung village in Nepal. Here, you can relish the views of the Himalayas and also witness the unique Gurung culture as well. Overnight stay at Ghandruk.

                          Along with Modi Khola flowing on the edge, you commence your trek towards Nayapul leaving Ghandruk. Once you reach Nayapul via Kimche, you take a quick rest and immediately drive back to the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara through the village of Lumle.In Pokhara, enjoy the lively city and its welcoming ambiance. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.

                            Bidding farewell to the Himalayas, you’ll drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. A six hours journey is certainly worth it as you’ll enjoy the natural diversity along with a sublime view of green hills and valleys. In the evening, you can roam around the Thamel area and buy souvenirs. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

                              Today is your last day in Nepal. Ace Vision Treks & Tours staff drop you off at TIA two hours prior to your scheduled flight. You can even share your experience with us on the way to the airport. Goodbye!
