Short Chisapani Nagarkot Hike Around Kathmandu Valley

The 6 days trip through the striking destinations around the Kathmandu Valley is filled with stunning natural landscapes and pleasant hilly trails which take us away from the crowds of the valley. Our lovely journey of Chisapani Nagarkot Hike begins from the Kathmandu day tour from where we begin our trekking and head towards Chisapani. Through the stunning natural landscape surrounding the Shivapuri National Park, which is also home to a diverse cast of wildlife, we begin our journey heading for Chisapani for our first night on the go. Continuing on the forested trail, we make our way heading toward Nagarkot, which, for generations, has been the place to go when one needs to get away from the fast-paced life of the valley. The town of Nagarkot boasts stunning views of sunrise and is well known for the Nagarkot view tower which boasts a 360-degree view of the entire region.

On a day with clear skies, the Nagarkot viewpoint hosts views from Everest to the east and Annapurna to the west. Enjoying the stunning views from Nagarkot, we make our way heading down toward the stunning city of Dhulikhel. The region boasts mesmerizing viewpoints and often sports the snowy summits of the Himalayas on the horizon. Ending the journey at Dhulikhel, we make our way heading back towards Kathmandu where, on-demand, special excursions to the popular UNESCO world heritage sites can be added.

Itinerary

After arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Ace Vision Treks will welcome you and then drive you back to the hotel where much-needed refreshment awaits. Afterward, you will be introduced to the members of the staff and guides who will be accompanying you on this journey. With the activities of the day over you are free to head down to the local market.

The day begins early as we head towards Sundarijal by bus/private vehicle before beginning our trek through the naturally stunning Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. The national park is well known for its diverse cast of floras and faunas and local wildlife. Heading towards Chisapani, we come across several settlements inhabited by the local people often belonging to multiple ethnic groups. Overnight stay at Chisapani.

Heading out of Chisapani, the trail settles down beside the stunning forested lands through the Nepali flatlands. The trail begins its steady descent heading down for about 3 hours which then brings us to ChowkiBhanjyang from where the trail continues on flatlands before ascending towards Nagarkot. Located at an altitude of 2,175m the hill station boasts stunning views of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Cho Oyu (8,188m), Makalu (8,463m), and Manaslu (8,163m) in addition to mesmerizing views of the sunset.

On the final day of the trek, we head out of Nagarkot after enjoying the stunning views of the sunrise over the Himalayas. The journey is a pleasant and short one as we steadily head down through the stunning Hilly landscapes continuing through the forests adorned with fir, pine, and juniper trees. The journey down is quite pleasant and soon reaches the hilly town of Dhulikhel.

The final day of the trek is quite short as we make our way back to the valley which takes about 2 hours. Enjoying the pleasant landscapes, we head directly back to the hotel. After freshening up from the days of travel, special excursions to the cities and UNESCO world heritage sites can be arranged which end our journey on a high note. At night, a lovely farewell dinner awaits us.

      We could only do a short 3-day trek due to time constraints but Ganesh gave us the best experience possible with the time we had.

      We learned so much about the plants, the animals and the culture. The tea houses we stayed in were wonderful with amazing views, good food and even better company.

      Ganesh was so kind and generous with his time and went at a pace we felt comfortable. We walked through a mix of national parks, villages with amazing views, temples and tiny little paths across huge valleys.

      Highly recommend booking with Ganesh. We wouldn’t go with anyone else and when we return to Nepal, the first person we will call is Ganesh.
