Manaslu and Annapurna location

Mount Manaslu is the eighth-highest mountain in the world, located 170 kilometers (106 miles) west of the capital city, Kathmandu, and approximately 64 kilometers (40 miles) east of Pokhara. During the Manaslu circuit trek part, you will traverse around this mountain within the Manaslu Conservation Area. It is also a restricted area in Nepal.

Mount Annapurna is the tenth-highest mountain in the world. It is located approximately 200 kilometers (124 miles) west of Kathmandu and 30 kilometers (19 miles) north of Pokhara. Following the Annapurna circuit trail, you will travel inside the Annapurna Conservation Area and also touch the lower Mustang section while trekking from Muktinath to Jomsom.

Mount Manaslu and Mount Annapurna both are located in the western part of the Himalayas, so they are close to each other in terms of geographical distance. Mt. Annapurna is located 40 to 50 kilometers (25 to 31 miles) east of Mt. Manaslu.

Compared to the Annapurna circuit, the Manaslu circuit trail is offbeat and secluded. The Annapurna circuit trail is much more famous and has better tourist infrastructure. Both circuit treks are challenging and offer excellent trekking experiences.

Cross two high passes- Larkya La and Thorong La

Larkya La and Thorong La are two 5,000 meters above mountain passes in Manaslu and Annapurna regions, respectively. Both passes are very famous, and crossing them is quite challenging because of the steep, rugged trail. During the Manaslu Annapurna circuit trek, you will cross both passes. It will not be easy, but the reward you will get is unmatched.

The typical day during the Manaslu Annapurna circuit trek

Your typical day during the Manaslu circuit trek with the Annapurna circuit looks like this- you will wake up early and have a warm breakfast of your choice. We will leave the village around 9:00 AM and begin trekking towards our next destination. On the way, we will have lunch and take frequent water breaks.

We will have dinner and breakfast in the same tea house we will spend the night. It is etiquette to have dinner and breakfast at the same place you spend the night in the mountains. The guide will help you interact with locals and brief you about the villages. You will spend quality time in the dining room of the tea houses every night, interacting with fellow trekkers.

Client Reviews

  • Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit Treks!!!

Before I get into details, I really just have to say that the owner Ganesh is amazing. Incredible service, so responsive, and sensitive to his customer’s needs. It’s clear that he has listened intently to customer feedback and integrates it into his service. There were times when I felt like he knew exactly what I was thinking and feeling regarding the planning of my trek.

I came across Ganesh on a random travel blog about trekking in Nepal. The authors highly recommended him and gave his email. I sent him a message and the rest was smooth sailing.

Ganesh’s office is conveniently located in the heart of Thamel. This made a big difference. If you’re like me and come to Kathmandu without plans or gear, you’ll likely be walking around shops a lot, buying things, and also considering different options for treks. Ganesh met me at my hotel to discuss my thoughts on the trek multiple times, and I was also able to chat with him at his office on my way back to my hotel after exploring the city once or twice. This was SUPER convenient and allowed him to really understand what I was looking for and customize the trek. It also allowed me to get fantastic guidance on what I needed to buy in real time. I don’t have a great deal of trekking experience, so a 3 week trip in the Himalayas is not a joke. With Ganesh’s help, I was able to put together an amazing itinerary and was totally prepared to go within just a 2-3 days of starting to plan. It was also not a very typical itinerary, which reflected how well Ganesh listened to what I was looking for and the dialogue we had in putting it all together. He shared insights with me that influenced my decisions about where to go, and while I was on the trek, there were multiple instances when I thought to myself, “ooh, this is what Ganesh was talking about!”

Finally, Ganesh personally came to pick me up and to me off at the airport. He didn’t need to do that. This is probably the most impressive thing about him. He is incredibly professional and friendly, and went above and beyond to make me feel like a valued customer.

I can’t speak highly enough about Ace Adventures and Ganesh. Everything about my experience was awesome and I definitely recommend this company to anyone who is coming to explore Nepal and appreciates super considerate and earnest service.
