Concealed between Langtang National Park and Manaslu Conservation Area, Ganesh Himal Trek is one of the adventurous trekking destinations in central Nepal. With an amusement of geographical landscapes and biological diversity, this trek offers you a magnificent view of panoramic green hills and mountains. The trail gives the pleasure of experiencing the wildlife, flora, and fauna, unique culture and tradition of Tamang and Gurung communities, sloppy landscapes, and long terraces.

Upon your arrival, you take a day off for the Kathmandu Day Tour and trek preparation. On the third day, you’ll drive towards Satdobato via Dhading. From Satdobato, our real trekking for Ganesh Himal Trek begins. The trail passes through Bhalche and proceeds toward Gongga. Along with a sublime view of snow-capped mountains, you walk past long terraces and a green forest of rhododendron and pine on the way to Gongga. From here, you’ll march towards Rupchet crossing suspension bridges and waterfalls. On the way forward, stunning views of Ganesh Himal(7422m), Langtang Lirung(7227m), and Tibetan mountain ranges greet us. Once at Rupchet, you are ascending towards Shertungvia Singla La Pass at 4045m. The views atop the pass also present captivating scenery of the surroundings including the Himalayas on the far-off horizon.

From Shertung, you head towards Jyamrung via Jharlang Phedi and KintangPhedi. As you trek through these villages, you’ll be enlightened about the rich culture. And the tradition of the local communities of Tamang, Ghale, and Brahmins. After resting for a day at Jyamrung, you will take a short walk to Sukaura.  Where you’ll drive back to Kathmandu bidding farewell to the Himalayas. March to May during spring and September to November during autumn are the best time for this trekking journey.

Itinerary

Landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport marks your arrival in Nepal. Our staff member will be waiting to escort you to your respective hotel. Along with a pleasant welcome cultural dinner in the evening, you spend the rest of the day in Kathmandu. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

    This day is scheduled for sightseeing and trek preparation. After some hours of trek preparation in the early morning, our local guide will take you to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Boudhanath. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

      After breakfast, you drive towards Dhading which is a comfortable ride from Kathmandu along will green hills and a stunning view of mountains. In the later parts of the drive, the roads might get a bit bumpy. Passing by settlements of various ethnic communities, you finally reach the trailhead of the trek at Chiding. Overnight stay at Chiding.

        Today you trek towards Bhalche from Chiding. On the way forward, you walk past the beautiful forest of pine. As you head towards Bhalche, you can also get a sublime view of snow-capped mountain peaks, Glementho, primarily composed of Ghale residents, also lies on the way. Bhalche is a small village that still retains its traditional outlook. Overnight stay at Bhalche.

          Early in the morning, you’ll start your trek towards the village of Gongga. The trail takes you to the deep forest of pine, oak, and rhododendron. On the way forward, you cross beautiful streams, and suspension bridges and even get a glimpse of wild deer and monkeys if you are lucky. Upon reaching your destination, sublime views of LangtangLirung(7227m) and other mountains in the Langtang ranges appear in the distance. Overnight stay at Gongga.

            Leaving behind the village of Gongga, you’ll start your trek towards Rupchet soon after breakfast. Along with the frequent peaks of Ganesh Himal(7422m), Langtang Lirung(7227m), and Tibetan mountain ranges, you’ll continue your walk by crossing small rivers and sloppy landscapes. The trail passes through a wide green forest and proceeds along the Phikuri Danda. After a short trek, you’ll finally reach Rupchet. Overnight stay at Rupchet.

              From Rupchet, you’ll trek towards ShertungKharka. A steep climb from Rupchet takes you to the top of Singla La Pass at 4045m. Once at the top, you’ll get a glorious view of many snowcapped mountain peaks including Ganesh Himal(7422m), Manaslu(8163m), and LangtangLirung(7227m). While descending down from the top, you'll walk past the various beautiful waterfall and a small forest of rhododendron. Finally, after seven hours of a long walk, you'll reach the settlement of Shertung. Overnight stay at Shertung.

                From ShertungKharka, it is a short trek to Shertung Village. Following the terraced farm fields, you’ll ascend gently towards some of the remote villages of the Magar people. From here, it is pretty hard to find any settlements until you reach your destination. Crossing Maubai and Phyangchet, you trek along

                  Early in the morning, you’ll start your trek towards JharlangPhedi. After about two to three hours of walking and crossing a suspension bridge over the Akha River, you will reach the Tamang village of Borang. From here, you’ll march towards the village of Chhapchet and finally get to JharlangPhedi. JharlangPhedi is a small Tamang village from where you can get panoramic mountain views. Overnight stay at JharlangPhedi.

                    On the 10th day, you’ll be trekking towards KintangPhedi. The trail takes you through several small villages, green hills, and farming fields. These villages are dominated by the settlements of Tamangs, Brahmins, and Chhetri. Enjoying a stunning view of snow-capped mountains in the background, you'll walk past the deep forest of jasmine and rhododendron and finally reach KintangPhedi. Overnight stay at a hotel in KintangPhedi.

                      From Kintang Phedi, you march towards Serabensi-Jyamrung. Along with the Ankhu Netrawati River flowing on the edge, you continue your trek crossing suspension bridges and waterfalls. As you reach Khaahre Bazaar, you get a close-up view of a few mountain peaks including the Ganesh ones in the Ganesh and Manaslu ranges. From here, the path is pretty straightforward until you reach Serabensi-Jyamrung. Overnight stay at Serabensi-Jyamrung.

                        Today is the rest day. You’ll explore Jyamrung village, interact with locals and get familiar with its unique culture and tradition. Jyamrung is a small beautiful village full of natural and cultural diversity. The Jyamrung Durbar is a famous cultural heritage and the village also proudly reflects cultural tolerance among the various ethnicities living in the village. Tamang, Magar, Brahmins, and Chhetri make up the majority of the population. Overnight stay at Jyamrung.

                          Bidding farewell to the mountains and natural flora and fauna, you’ll be driving back to Kathmandu after a short walk to Sukaura from Jyamrung. A scenic five to six hours drive will take you through the green hills and valleys. Once you reach Kathmandu, you can roam around the Thamel area and buy a souvenir if you have enough time. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

                            Today is your last day in Nepal. We’ll drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport two hours prior to your scheduled flight. You can share your experience with us on the way to the airport. Goodbye and have a safe journey.
