Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a short trip where we go through a diverse cast of landscapes beginning from the lush green forests to barren Tibetan landscapes. The majestic Kaligandaki River, the world's deepest gorge, unique monasteries, authentic culture, and mesmerizing views of the majestic Himalayas fall under the long list of mesmerizing sights to be witnessed in the Jomsom Muktinath Trek.

Jomsom Muktinath Trek begins from the Kathmandu Day Tour. The stunning treasure trove of culture and nature awaits us.  We tour the UNESCO World Heritage sites around the city before making our way toward Pokhara from where the trail picks up. Heading out of Pokhara, We make our way toward Nayapul.  From where lush green forests surround the trail making its way towards Ulleri.  Known for the stunning views of Annapurna South (7219m) but also for the strenuous climb leading up to it.

Continuing through the forests filled with pine, fir, and rhododendron trees.  The trail continues ascending towards Ghorepani Poon Hill and then onto Tatopani.  Where a lovely bath in the hot water springs awaits us. The hamlet of Ghasa is the next step on our journey.  From where we make our way toward Marpha entering the windy valley.  Where the barren Tibetan landscape stretches as far as the eyes can see.

Crossing the enchanting city of Jomsom, we make our way toward Kagbeni.  Where thousands of Hindus come each year to offer offerings for their departed ancestors. The final few days of the trek take us to the holy temple of Muktinath.  And then back to Jomsom signaling the end of our Jomsom Muktinath Trek.

Itinerary

After landing at Tribhuvan International Airport you will be received by Ace Vision Treks & Tours representatives who will drive you directly back to the hotel. With the activities of the day over you are free to head down to the local market to enjoy the stunning views of Thamel.

The day begins early as we make our way towards Pokhara (820m.) taking on a 30-minute flight away from Kathmandu. After taking a short break we will drive to Nayapuland begin our trek toward Ulleri. Crossing Nayapul we reach the hamlet of Banthanti from where the stone steps lead up to Ulleri.

On the longest day of the entire trek, today, we make our way towards the stunning hamlet of Ghorepani where mesmerizing Himalayan vistas adorn the skyline. Guided by the stunning views and unique shape of Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,997m), the journey continues where it left off heading out through the lush green forests continuing to Ghorepani at the foot of the Himalayas.

Today, we make our way out of Ghorepani heading down towards Tatopani located on the banks of the Kaligandaki River. Enjoying the spectacular views of sunrise on the snowy summits of the Himalayas, we begin our slow descent towards Tatopani. The hamlet of Tatopani provides us with a relaxing option with its hot water springs alongside the enchanting natural views.

A day of lovely trekking alongside the Kaligandaki River, the journey continues its run through the winding Hilly trail accommodated by the lush green forests on either side. Continuing on, we reach the Rupse waterfall cascading down through the Rocky Mountains. The 300m tall waterfall has emerged as a popular tourist destination alongside the raging Kaligandaki River and the Kaligandaki Gorge which is also the deepest gorge in the world.

The day's journey sees us enter into the barren Tibetan landscape as we make our way towards Jomsom heading out of Ghasa. Through the clearing forests, the trail heads out blessed with stunning views of the Himalayas on the horizon. The hamlet of Marpha is well known for the apple orchards and varieties of products made from apples.

We begin our journey heading out of Marpha making our way towards the hamlet of Jomsom. The journey is a lovely one as the rocky Himalayan trail is replaced by a sandy barren trail with majestic mountains rising on either side of the way. Taking a brief rest at Jomsom, we begin our way heading up towards the hamlet of Kagbeni.

The day begins early as surrounded by the majestic Himalayas we begin our journey heading up towards the Muktinath. The region is inhabited by the local Gurung and Hindus who decide to settle down around the holy temple. Paying our respects at the holy temple we continue our exploration heading towards the flame which never goes out and the majestic statue of Gautam Buddha overlooking the entire valley down below.

After a lovely breakfast in the company of the majestic Himalayas, we begin our journey heading down towards the city of Jomsom. Crisscrossing through the barren landscape and accompanied by the fast-flowing Kaligandaki River, the trail continues its windy nature through the stone cairns gradually descending down towards the Jomsom valley.

The day begins early as we head back to the stunning city of Pokhara taking on a 25-minute flight out of Jomsom. After landing at Pokhara we first head to the hotel where much-needed refreshments await us. With the activities of the day over you are free to journey around the local destinations like Phewa Lake, Peace Pagoda, Davis Falls, and Mahendra Cave on your own. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.

On the final day of the trek, we head back towards the Kathmandu Valley taking on the winding roads of Prithvi Highway and the fast-flowing Trishuli River beside us. The journey crosses through hills moving past stunning Hilly landscapes to reach Kathmandu. After freshening up a lovely farewell dinner awaits us as we celebrate our successful journey.
