Everest Gokyo trek with Tengboche monastery accommodates the best of the views, culture, and experiences one expects to gain from the Everest region. A trek with astounding attributes is truly a journey that explores the magnificence of Everest and the trails leading to it. The stunning Everest region can always be surmised in three major points the tallest point of the world at Mt. Everest (8,848m), the enchanting Gokyo Lakes, and the vibrant Sherpa hamlets home to unique cultures and way of life.

Everest Gokyo trek with Tengboche monastery begins from the valley where we take a day off for sightseeing and preparation before making our way toward Lukla. In Kathmandu, we tour the world heritage sites across the capital including Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. A scenic flight over the Nepali Himalayas will take you to Lukla. Kicking off the trek, we travel to Phakding. From there, the journey takes us to Namche Bazaar entering the naturally enchanting Sagarmatha National Park.  Which boasts a wide variety of floras and faunas in addition to the gorgeous Himalayan panorama.

Taking a day off at Namche for acclimatization, we head to the hamlet of Tengboche. The Tengboche Monastery along with its Sherpa heritage. And Buddhist background is famous for offering a panorama of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and many other peaks. The trail from Tengboche heads to the Phortse Village and then onto Machhermo. Making our way to Gokyo village the journey brings us face to face with the gleaming Gokyo Lakes. After climbing the Gokyo Ri (5364m), we make our way down towards Dhole before ending the journey.  The EverestGokyo trek with the Tengboche monastery trek back to Namche. As we bid farewell to the Himalayas, the trip ends in Kathmandu.

The Tengboche Monastery is known as Dawa Choling Gompa. The biggest Monastery in Everest (Khumbu) region. How old is Tengboche Monastery? The largest gompa is situated at 3867m. (12,687). In 1916 Lama Gulu built it.

After your entrance to Nepal, Ace Vision Treks and Tours company staff will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Following a drive, the representative will take you to your hotel.

Today is a free day in Kathmandu or a day tour in Kathmandu, which is including world heritage sites. Today we head down to the valley to enjoy the mesmerizing charm of the UNESCO world heritage sites spread throughout the valley. Beginning with the spiritual environment surrounding the stunning temple of Swayambhunath, the next stop for us is the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath distinct through the resonating sound of prayers. Diving deeper into history the journey takes us to Kathmandu Durbar Square where we end our journey in the tranquil environment at Boudhanath.

The day begins early as we make our way to Lukla (2,840m)  through one of the most thrilling airstrips you will face in all your travels. The 40-minute flight takes us through scenic landscapes offering us a taste of what's to come. Taking a brief rest at Lukla, we make our way to Phakding which kicks off our trek. The trail takes us through lush green forests adorned with occasional views of the Himalayas on our first day on the trail.

Today, we make our way to Namche Bazaar well known as the gateway to Everest. The hill town is an economic and trade center for locals and trekkers heading out of the Everest region. Heading out of Phakding the trail takes us through the famed Hillary- Suspension bridge and then onto the vibrant hamlets of Monjo and Chhamuwa. Traversing through the Sagarmatha National Park, we make our way to Namche Bazaar.

The hamlet of Namche offers a wide variety of options when it comes to acclimatization. The hamlets of Khumjung and Khunde are popular options with pleasant trails and stunning views of the Himalayas adorning the skyline. Khumjung is also famous for the Yeti Skull monastery. Another popular option is to head up to Everest View Hotel which offers stunning views of Mt. Everest (8,848m) alongside the other Himalayas of the Everest Region.

Day six and we head to the first of our major destinations in the region. The Tengboche Monastery is located in the hamlet of Tengboche and is also one of the oldest monasteries in the region. While ancient Buddhist artifacts and paintings decorate the monastery from the inside, mesmerizing Himalayan views adorn the outside of the monastery. The trail heading out of Namche Bazaar is guided by the stunning views of AmaDablam (6,856m) through the lush green forests. Overnight stay at Namche.

As we leave the Sherpa village of Tengboche, we reach the lush pasturelands. Heading northwest from Tengboche, the trail to Phortse is filled with glorious forests and trails filled with the wonders of the Sagarmatha National Park. The day involves a short walk and as we arrive at Phortse, the Himalayas seem even more majestic. This small village is also known to be a viewpoint and has a number of hotels and lodges offering modern services as well.

Taking on the Gokyo trail, the journey heads to Machhermo. The trail heading away from the hamlet of Phortse begins with a steep ascent heading up the hill before leveling out with stunning views of the valley on both sides. Continuing on, the trail descends to Dhole where we take a short break. Continuing through the ascent, the trail takes us to Lhabarma and Luza before making its way to Machhermo.

On one of the more challenging days, we head up towards the Gokyo lakes. Heading out of the hamlet of Machhermo, the trail takes us atop the ridge blessed with stunning views of Kangtega (6,685m) and Cho Oyu (8,188m). Heading towards the hamlet of Phangga, the trail is leveled till Longponga from where we begin our ascent to the first of the five Gokyo Lakes. The hamlet of Gokyo is located on the banks of the third lake, Gokyo.

Today, we spend a day in the valley of Gokyo climbing the mountain of Gokyo Ri (5360m). The day begins early as we make our way through the strenuous Himalayan trail heading through the Himalayas ascending towards the summit of Gokyo Ri. The journey is mostly ascending through icy pathways but the views from the summit are equally rewarding with the stunning views of Cho Oyu (8,188m), Gyachung Kang (7,952m), Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,414m), Makalu (8,463m), and Cholatse (6,335m).

We begin we descend heading back to the hamlet of Dhole. The journey takes us through the breathtaking Himalayan views as the icy Himalayan trail is replaced by the pleasant rural hilly landscape. The hamlet of Dhole is a vibrant Sherpa hamlet where we get to mingle with the locals learning more about their culture and lifestyle.

The final stretch of our trek takes us back to the city of Namche Bazaar. The trail descends through quiet forests and vibrant hamlets. The region is also famous for rare species of wildlife so make sure to keep an eye out for them. Heading through Phortse, the trail ascends to the mountain pass of Mong La from where we descend back to Sanasa. The final part is quite straightforward leading to Namche Bazaar.

On the final day of the trek, we head back to the hamlet of Lukla exiting the Sagarmatha National park en route. The trail begins with a lovely descent heading down to the suspension bridge which leads to another suspension bridge often packed with trekkers and locals. Through the national park, we make our way back to the river banks of Monjo River. Crossing the hamlet of Phakding the trail enters it's final ascend making its way to Lukla.

Today, we make our way back to the valley. The day begins early as we head out of the thrilling airstrip of Lukla once again bidding one last goodbye to the Himalayas. Back in Kathmandu, we head directly to the hotel freshening up from the days of traveling. You can follow with a stroll around the capital and its heritage.
