Trip Overview
Tucked away between the beloved Annapurna and Manaslu circuit, the Nar-Phu Valley Trek offers a wide contrast as compared to its popular counterparts. The trek explores the local culture and lifestyle which finds many similarities with Tibet compared to the rest of the Manang valley and goes on back to the 8th century. The Nar-Phu valley trek is like no other with stunning Himalayan vistas. An authentic experience through the Himalayan wilderness, and a unique journey of discovery through the lands frozen in time.
After taking a lovely Kathmandu day tour to the world heritage sites around the valley. We begin our journey Nar-Phu Valley Trek heading towards Koto crossings the stunning city of Besisahar en route. Beginning the journey, the trail takes on the alpine trail moving upwards toward the hamlet of Meta.
From Meta, the trail gradually ascends to the hamlet of Phu. Phu is an ancient hamlet that was once highly regarded for its remote and strategic location. Taking a day off to properly acclimatize and explore Phu, we also find time to reach the Himlung Base Camp located at an altitude of 4,080m.
Crossing over through the high mountain passes we enter the Nar valley. Settling down at Nar Phedi for the night before making it all the way to Nar Village. The next day sees we move on towards Ngawal through the famous Kang La pass, and, at 5,240 meters. The rugged Himalayan pass offers mesmerizing views of the Himalayas. Descending towards Pisang we once again get on a bus driving to Besisahar which signals the end of our journey.
The Nar-Phu Valley Trek deviates from the mainstream Annapurna Circuit Trek and ventures into the desolate valleys of Nar and Phu. This trek mesmerizes the participants with the exploration through the Annapurna Conservation Area. And the culture of the communities in the Nar and Phu valleys.
