Starting the Annapurna trek, you'll first drive to Hille and then take on a trail to Ulleri. While it's never easy to take a challenge on the first day itself, the infamous Ulleri steps (around 3500 steps & stone paved) will require breaking some sweat.
It is now that you get a feel of the Himalayan tribes and their lifestyle as you spend time in the beautiful villages of Ghorepani and Tadapani. The hike up Poonhill for great views of the Annapurna (8091m) and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail 6997m) is topped only when you land yourself at the foot of these towering peaks at their base camps.

12-day Annapurna base camp trekking itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4,264 ft)
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, an Ace Vision Treks representative will welcome you to the Airport. Shortly, with a vehicle arranged, you’ll be transferred to the trip hotel where you’ll be assisted in checking.
Day 2: Drive to Pokhara (820m/2,689 ft) 6-7 Hrs
An important day in the trip, you head to Pokhara. Taking the Prithvi Highway, this bus heads southwest along the Trishuli River down the valley. Jaded lush green hills and terraced fields will be a feast for your eyes as you cross the towns of Malekhu, Mugling, and Damauli on your way to Pokhara. Arriving in the beautiful town of Pokhara, enjoy a stroll around the lakeside with a chance to dine at some of the finest restaurants in the country.
Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Hille | 3-Hrs and trek to Ulleri | 2-3 Hrs
A pleasant drive from Pokhara in the morning will mark the start of our journey to the Himalayas. The roads twist and turn along the valley before we arrive at Nayapul. Starting the trek, we cross over Modi Khola. Walk from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga is pleasant while that onwards to Ulleri is a challenge with a flight of stairs to overcome.
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani (2,860m/9,380 ft) 5-6 Hrs
Trekking up a trail above Ulleri takes you past beautiful grooves of rhododendrons and settlements at Banthanti and Nangethanti. A trek past the oak forest with occasional wildflower trees with mesmerizing views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail|6997m) and the Annapurna range as you arrive at the beautiful village of Ghorepani.
Day 5: Trek to Tadapani via early morning Poon hill (3,210m/10,528 ft) Hike for Sunrise
A 1-hour hike, early in the morning, from Ghorepani village, will take you to the top of this hill where an event of sun lighting up the Annapurna range is simply spellbinding. Add to that magnificent views of Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m), Lamjung (6983m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), and Hiunchuli (6441m) and you are in for a treat. Hike down to Ghorepani for breakfast before setting off on a trail to Tadapani.
Day 6: Trek to Chhomrong (2170m/7,117 ft)
This day starts in a beautiful fashion with magnificent views of the valley and snow-capped peaks. The trail takes you to Chhomrong today. A hillside village, Chhomrong is the entrance to Annapurna Sanctuary which is a reserve of Annapurna and neighboring Himalayan range. You arrive at Chhomrong with magnificent views of Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), and Hiunchuli (6441m).
Day 7: Trek to Himalaya (2,920 m/ 9,577 ft)
The trek starts with a descent before crossing an oddly long suspension bridge onto a winding trail over the ridge of a hill. A stone-paved trail heads for Bamboo with an occasional flight of challenging stairs past the village of Sinuwa and Kuldighar to Dobhan. Arriving at Himalaya, immerse in the views of the beautiful Himalayan range.
Day 8: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m/ 13,546 ft)
Up next is the highest point of this trek. Annapurna Base Camp is within Annapurna Sanctuary which includes Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m). River flowing below the ravines is terrifyingly beautiful as you cross a moraine onto Deurali. The trail enters Annapurna Sanctuary as you glide above a ridge onto Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Another couple of hours along the occasional snow-laden track will take you beneath the south face of Annapurna.
Enjoy mesmerizing views of surrounding peaks and mammoth icefalls.
Day 9: Trek to Bamboo (2,310 m/ 7,576 ft)
Wake up to glorious views of towering Himalayas as the snow crest of these mountains glistens as the sun shines. With a magnificent start to this day and a treat of a breakfast at the foothills, begin on a trail back to Bamboo via Machhapuchhre Base Camp. As this trail snakes through the ridges and moraines, it leads to the bank of Modi Khola.
Trekking along undulating terrain, you will arrive at Bamboo.
Day 10: Trek to Jhinu Danda/Hot Spring (1780m/ 5,838 ft)
The trail climbs steeply to Kuldighar on this day. Heading for the hot springs at Jhinu Danda, we start on a trail marked by stone paved steps onto the lush green forest. Onto Sinuwa, descending to the suspension bridge, we cross the river and take on a steep climb to Chhomrong. From here, a steep descent along the Modi Khola Valley will lead to Jhinu Danda.
Enjoy the hot springs and overnight stay at Jhinu Danda.
Day 11: Travel back to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the bus terminal. Catch a luxury tourist coach back along the Prithvi Highway to Kathmandu. Unravel the beautiful landscape along the roaring Marsayangdi and Trishuli rivers as you drive to Kathmandu. Enjoy the evening exploring the Thamel tourist market for souvenirs and items to add to your collection.

Day 12: Final departure towards your destination
